Undiscovered App #77: Haste - Real-time Boggle

HasteFans of our site know that we like word games. Here's one worth downloading: Haste, by Lachlan T. Potts. The objective is a lot like Boggle, or Scramble With Friends, where you need to make as many words as you can within a short period of time, sliding your fingers along a stream of letters to form words.

There's a mild twist to it that makes it worthwhile: instead of taking turns to make words, Haste has you building them at the same time as your opponent. And to add to that, there's a Scrabble-esque feature where you can build words that contain bonus letters. Double word, triple word, double-letter, you know the drill. If you can confine your words to those bonus letters, you can rack up a lot of points fairly quickly.

One additional nice thing is that you don't have to sign up for an account. You can play as a guest and start playing immediately, but the downside is that your history isn't saved. If you want to play friends, you can challenge them, and your results show up on the Game Center board for bragging rights. It has an unobtrusive ad that shows up only after the end of every game.

Haste is available to download for free, so there's absolutely no reason to not download it. It has an average rating of 5 stars from 24 reviews, has an eye-pleasing interface and is easy to pick up and play. This is one we highly recommend.
