Undiscovered App #80: Best Decision - Quantify Pros and Cons

Best Decision / iTunes Link
We've all been there: we want to decide between doing A or B, or even C, but can't quite decide which of the choices is the best one to take. Well if you've ever been told to make a list of pros and cons to help you decide, today's Undiscovered App helps facilitate just that. Best Decision by Lukasz Kowalski is a simple little decision engine that lets you enter the type of decision you've been pondering, then provides you an opportunity to present the choices and the factors that matter most to you that you can rate on a scale of 1 - 5.

Here are some screen shots to give you an idea of the interface. The one small drawback I noticed is that it doesn't have autocorrect for when you're typing out the question, which may or may not be a good thing.

So for an example, you could have the following question:

* What should I eat for dinner?

The options you could put down might be:

* Go out to Olive Garden
* Order Domino's Pizza
* Cook dinner

And then the key factors that matter could be:

* Cost
* Time Saved
* Yumminess
* Healthiness

...and then depending on how you rate the four factors above, it'll give you the one with the highest cumulative score. Easy as that. The great thing is that we often don't often give precise weightings to our decisions, and this lets you settle those questions you've got based on those subtle differences. Give Best Decision a try, and see if it helps you with any big decisions you've been asking yourself. It's available to download for $1.99, and it has an average rating of 5 stars from 36 reviews.

Undiscovered App #79: Reverser - Make Your Movies In Reverse

Reverser / iTunes Link
Remember many years ago that Coldplay song called The Scientist that had an awesome video that was recorded backwards? Well if you've ever wondered how to record something backwards, today's your lucky today. Today's Undiscovered App, called Reverser, does exactly that.

It's super simple to use. It accesses your video library, asks you which one to reverse, and with a simple tap, the video can be reversed in either slow motion, normal speed, or fast motion. Not only does it reverse the video, but it also reverses the audio, so get ready to hear some interesting audio during playback.

Reverser is available to download for $0.99 and has an average rating of 4.5 stars from 79 reviews. Definitely worth the download for the laughs you can get out of it and the novelty alone.

Undiscovered App #78: 7 Minute Workout Pro

7 Minute Workout Pro
About a year ago, we wrote about a nice little app that got us to exercise when we were too lazy to go to the gym. Today's Undiscovered App is actually very similar to that, but with some nicer bells and whistles that gives it a slight edge over the previous iteration.

7 Minute Workout Pro is like a little gym in your pocket, except this gym comes with its own little personal trainer, guiding you over the course of 12 exercises that last only 30 seconds, with 10 seconds of rest in between different sets.

Here are the exercises:

1. Jumping Jacks
2. Wall Sit
3. Push-ups
4. Abdominal Crunch
5. Step-up onto chair
6. Squat
7. Triceps dip on chair
8. Plank
9. High knees running in place
10. Lunge
11. Push-up and rotation
12. Side plank

The cool part is that you can have the exercises be randomized, plus you can choose from a variety of different background sounds (Dubstep, Funky, Hip-Hop, Rock, Tango, Dance). There's an activity calendar to let you keep track of your progress, reminders so you don't forget, plus instructions on how to do the exercises, and little color customizations for when your mood changes.

It's a nice little package, and costs much less than a gym membership. 7 Minute Workout Pro is available to download for $1.99 and has an average rating of 4.5 stars from 215 ratings. Anything that'll help you get off your butt and get some physical activity, especially in the comfort of your own home, deserves a good look.

Undiscovered App #77: Haste - Real-time Boggle

HasteFans of our site know that we like word games. Here's one worth downloading: Haste, by Lachlan T. Potts. The objective is a lot like Boggle, or Scramble With Friends, where you need to make as many words as you can within a short period of time, sliding your fingers along a stream of letters to form words.

There's a mild twist to it that makes it worthwhile: instead of taking turns to make words, Haste has you building them at the same time as your opponent. And to add to that, there's a Scrabble-esque feature where you can build words that contain bonus letters. Double word, triple word, double-letter, you know the drill. If you can confine your words to those bonus letters, you can rack up a lot of points fairly quickly.

One additional nice thing is that you don't have to sign up for an account. You can play as a guest and start playing immediately, but the downside is that your history isn't saved. If you want to play friends, you can challenge them, and your results show up on the Game Center board for bragging rights. It has an unobtrusive ad that shows up only after the end of every game.

Haste is available to download for free, so there's absolutely no reason to not download it. It has an average rating of 5 stars from 24 reviews, has an eye-pleasing interface and is easy to pick up and play. This is one we highly recommend.
