Undiscovered App #61: Flick Football Super Save

Flick Football Super SaveIf you're a soccer fan and ever wanted to know what it's like to be a goal keeper, today's Undiscovered App will let you test your reflexes and finally answer that burning question. Flick Football Super Save by Neon Play puts you right in between the goal posts, and your objective is to block all incoming kicks from the opposing team by swiping the screen to move your hands and prevent the ball from getting past you.

It starts off pretty easy, making you think you might actually have a future career with the Beckhams of the world, but things start to get tricky pretty fast, as kicks that look pretty straightforward start bending and throwing you off your expected path.

There are different modes, lots of achievements, and Game Center integration to help you see how you stack up against your friends. Overall, a very fun distraction when you've got a few minutes to kill. Flick Football Super Save is available to download for $0.99, and has an average rating of 4.5 stars from over 1,000 reviews.

Undiscovered App #60: Super Battle - Rock, Paper, Scissors

Everyone knows that the only way to settle a dispute is through Rock, Paper, Scissors. Today's Undiscovered App, called Super Battle by JAK Pixels House, takes you back to your more youthful days and lets you play the classic game, but with a small twist: you start out as a Warrior, and you have to defeat a succession of opponents: a Skeleton, a clone of yourself (in this case, a Warrior), a Ninja, and a Samurai, with each enemy getting more powerful as you advance.

By beating everyone, you can advance your character and move up the chain and become a Skeleton, Ninja, and a Samurai, and in turn, you yourself can become more powerful and take more damage until you're wiped out.

The game is easy to play, and also quite easy to win. But in the meantime, you'll enjoy some great graphics, fun music, and the occasional cliff hanger where you can't take anymore hits and you're that close to winning your battle.

Super Battle is a fun diversion, and is quite undiscovered, with only two ratings at 5 stars. It's currently available to download for $0.99.

Undiscovered App #59: Love Quote PRO - Be Your Own Inspiration

Love Quote PRO
You've seen all those motivational posters and images around the web with cool and witty quotes. Well, if you've ever wanted to join in and lift someone's spirit or just make them laugh by putting in something inappropriate, today's Undiscovered App might be worth a look.

It's called Love Quote PRO, and it lets you take a picture from your phone's camera roll (or use some high quality pre-existing ones) and superimpose a quote on it. You can make up your own or use some pre-existing quotes from different categories. You can also change the font size, color, alignment, and you can even apply some cool filters to give it an Instagram-like effect. Once you're done, you can save it to your camera roll or share it instantly via text message, email, or social media. It does leave a watermark on it, though, that says "lovequoteapp.com" -- it would be nice to have a feature to keep that off for a future version.

Overall, it was very easy and enjoyable to use. If you're into sending something sentimental, the upcoming Valentine's Day might just be the perfect time to use it. It has no ratings yet, so we're really going into undiscovered territory here. The best thing about it is that it's free to download.

Undiscovered App #58: Oh My Heart - Destructive Fun

Oh My Heart
Today's Undiscovered App is a dangerous one. Don't try it unless you're ready to get sucked in, because that's what's happened once I gave Oh My Heart by Hyperbolic Magnetism a try. The crazy thing about it is that it was made in only 48 hours.

There's a simple objective: you're trying to stop a number of minions from climbing all the way to the top of a wall. You've got a number of weapons at your disposal: a Fruit Ninja-like slashing motion to cut them in half, or a lightning bolt to zap them unconscious, or a bomb to blow them to bits.

The game goes in waves, with each wave giving you progressively more difficult challenges, like more minions to wipe out, or ones that are immune to certain attacks, or ones that are just plain ridiculously fast at climbing walls. It's instant mayhem, but one I found to be tremendously enjoyable.

Oh My Heart is currently available to download for $0.99. It has an average rating of 4.5 stars out of 25 reviews. This is one of my favorites, hands down, for the month of February. I can't recommend this one enough.
