Undiscovered App #21: Animotions - It's like Vine for texting

We've all seen animated GIFs, and given its popularity, it was only a matter of time before someone extended the idea to create the looping video app Vine.

Today's Undiscovered App from Mobisocial, Inc extended the idea further, putting the animation idea into text messages. With Animotions, you have the ability to create your own looping video emoticons, so to speak, and you can paste them into text messages as a surprising way to express any given emotion.

You start out with nine pre-labeled emotions: Happy, Sad, Excited, OMG, Silly, WTF, Wait... wut?, Hmph., and Please. You can create more and also change the labels. Each slate is blank, and clicking on it activates your camera to begin recording. You have up to 10 seconds to record your video, and when you're ready to use it, you can copy it to your clipboard to paste into iMessage.

When I first tried it out, the response I got was, "Wow, how did you do that?" Nobody up until then had seen anything like it, and I felt like the kid with the coolest toy on the block. Check out some screenshots:

Give it a try; we found this to be a lot of fun, and your friends will be asking you how you did it. Animotions is free to download, and it has an average rating of 5 stars from 17 reviews.
